Ivermectin For Soothed Redness
Ivermectin is a antiparasitic prescribed to help calm irritation and reduce visible redness linked with parasitic skin concerns.
First developed in the late 1970s and approved for UK use in around 1988, ivermectin is now a recognised dermatology option for minimising rosacea.

Your Questions, Answered With Care
Ivermectin is usually applied to the face, and can also be used on the neck and under-eye area when paired with a moisturiser. These areas tend to be more delicate, so a lower strength is generally recommended. Avoid applying it too close to the eyelids for comfort and safety.
Apply TWO pumps to clean, dry skin on the affected area(s) once daily at NIGHT. After applying, wash your hands and follow with a moisturiser to support comfort and hydration. Use an SPF 30 or higher every morning to keep your skin protected throughout treatment.
Monderma prescribes ivermectin at a single strength of 1%, in line with national guidelines.
This strength is selected for its balance of effectiveness and tolerability, particularly for concerns such as rosacea and inflammation-prone skin. Your prescriber will assess your skin type, sensitivity, and symptom pattern to ensure it is an appropriate option for you.
Most users find that consistent use at this strength provides steady, comfortable improvement without the need for higher concentrations.
You may begin to notice early visible improvements after the first week. For more sustained and meaningful results, nightly use for at least 12 weeks is recommended.
Ivermectin should be used for no longer than 4 consecutive months. After completing a course, a break of at least 3 months is required before Monderma’s prescribers will consider restarting treatment.
Although ivermectin is intended to treat rosacea, some users may experience mild side effects as their skin adjusts. These can include peeling, redness, or sensitivity, particularly during the first few weeks.
To minimise this, Monderma recommends beginning with a lower strength and pairing your treatment with a moisturiser to help maintain comfort as your skin adapts.
Ivermectin must not be used during pregnancy. If you are trying to conceive, become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, discontinue use immediately and contact us for further guidance.
Ivermectin is generally safe to use alongside most over-the-counter skincare products. If you are using any additional prescription skincare, you must inform Monderma so your ivermectin formula can be reviewed for safe continued use.
Please also inform any healthcare professional or treatment provider about your prescription skincare. Certain procedures may require pausing ivermectin before and after treatment to minimise sensitivity and reduce the risk of adverse reactions.
